Media and Society: Week One Blog Topic One: About Me My name is Grace Phillips. I am going to be starting my sophomore year at LBCC. I play volleyball here! I am planning to go into pediatric nursing or into the public health field. I love serving others and just got back from the Tenderloin where I served the homeless for a week! This past week was extremely eye opening for me as I did not realize the extent of homeless in the small blocked in area known as the Tenderloin. I would love to learn about how the media decides what to show and how they present it. Media has been becoming more and more prevalent in todays society so I'm pretty excited about this class in general. As I said I play on the volleyball team at LBCC and I love it. I will be going onto my 9th year go playing volleyball and each year I play I fall more in love with this sport. College volleyball is super intense but it also keeps me motivated in school and just in general to succeed! I am excited for this
